Who are we and what is in our name?

ACME - Webster's definition "ak-me: highest point, one that represents perfection of a thing expressed."

FIRE AND SAFETY - It is our commitment to assist you with your commercial, retail and industrial fire safety needs. Our sales and service has always been based on honesty, courtesy and the thorough belief that we can help you. There is no Fire Safety problem that ACME FIRE will turn away.

Some of our services include: Installation and service of automatic fire suppression systems in restaurants, paint spray booths, vehicle fire systems - manufacturer's representatives for AMEREX, ANSUL, KIDDE-FENWAL, PYROCHEM AND RANGE GUARD. Sales and service of most fire alarm systems, emergency lights - manufacturer's representatives for FIRE-LITE, LUMAID, BEGHALLI.

Sales and service of water based sprinklers, hoses, fire hydrants and fire extinguishers, including maintenance / inspection, recharging, and hydrostatic testing.

In March of 1972, ACME FIRE AND SAFETY CO. LTD. was formed between Lino Tonolli and Bruce Buckner, and was located across the street from where the Joyce Street Sky Train Station, Vancouver, B.C. was later built.

In 1974 ACME FIRE purchased and moved into a building at 3427 Kingsway, Vancouver, B.C. In 1996 a new associate, Michael Tonolli, was brought on board, and in 2002 Michael became the sole owner of ACME FIRE. After 32 years at our Kingsway location we purchased and moved into a more progressive facility located @ 7015 Curragh Avenue, Burnaby, (just 10 minutes east of the previous location), 1 Block south of Kingsway just past Buller Avenue.

Since 1972 ACME FIRE has grown from a four-person operation to twenty-five full time employees, five of which have over twenty-five years with us and six of which have over ten years. This long-term commitment extends to our customers through dedication and knowledge of all kinds of fire safety services.

In ACME's over 30 years of successful business, and continued growth, our established customer base includes the likes of Mcdonalds Restaurants of Canada, A & W Restaurants, White Spot Restaurants, Canada Safeway Limited, BCIT, Vancouver Airport, UBC and Vancouver Hospitals… commercial buildings, restaurants, and apartment complexes.

Our dedication also includes supporting various local and community organizations. We presently provide support to Ronald McDonald's House, Salvation Army, Cystic Fibrosis, Rotary Club of Vancouver East to name a few....

We are members of NAFED (National Association for Fire Equipment distributors, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), and FPOA (Fire Prevention Officer's Association).

ACME FIRE is insured and bondable. All of our established technicians are manufacturer certified, as well as ASTTBC (Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia) certified.
